Tatatrian Charity Organization (TCO)
Background
Tatarian is an organization designed to help individuals who can’t fulfill the education system requirements to achieve their goals. Tatarian was formed in 2013 E.C by three medical laboratory students of Addis Ababa University (Teuma Aman, Simon Mesfin, and Eden Tesfaye) to make societal changes focusing on protection and gender-based violence (GBV) sectors. It is a nongovernmental organization running through the budget of volunteer founders. Currently, it is planned to cover IDPs, students, and other communities all over Ethiopia.
In the past years, we were able to engage in different volunteer activities and have been learning with various individuals from different backgrounds. We observed that many people are engaged in fields they have no interest in and have little knowledge of due to their inability to cope with the system. This has a direct impact on individuals as well as on a country level.
Objective
Tatarian mainly focuses on aligning individuals with their goals and helping those without goals to find their path. They will get an opportunity to understand the concept of career life. Tatarian persists in making a better Ethiopia by creating innovative, hardworking, open-minded, influential, and determined individuals. By this program, we aim to fill the gap between individuals and their goals.
-To create goal-oriented individuals
-Create active participants in society
-Create active citizens willing to participate in various productive activities
-Broaden individuals’ perspectives towards their goals
-Help individuals create a plan to acquire the skills they may need for their academic studies or chosen career path
-Create a new batch of inspiring individuals
-Women empowerment
Protection and GBV Sector
Tatarian Charity Organization (TCO) is committed to addressing protection and gender-based violence (GBV) issues among IDPs, students, and other communities in Ethiopia. Recognizing the critical need for protection and GBV interventions, TCO aims to create a safe and supportive environment for individuals, particularly focusing on empowering young women and vulnerable groups. Our programs are designed to raise awareness about GBV, provide essential support services, and foster resilience among participants. By collaborating with skilled professionals in the fields of empowerment, social work, and mental health, TCO ensures that individuals receive comprehensive education and support. Our approach includes regular training sessions, workshops, and counseling services, all aimed at building self-esteem, self-awareness, and resilience. TCO’s commitment to protection and GBV is reflected in our tailored programs that address the unique needs of participants, helping them navigate challenges and build a brighter future. Through continuous assessment and collaboration with local schools and communities, TCO strives to create a lasting impact, ensuring that individuals are not only educated but also protected and empowered to achieve their full potential.
