
Our Story
The National Social Accountability Consortium composed of 16 national local CSOs established in 29 February 2024 to implement an integrated social accountability programme, synergizing their different strengths and competencies. The majority of members of the consortium had extensive experience in implementing social accountability programs at national level in addition to integrated humanitarian and development interventions.The consortium, as group of CSOs, serve as a model for governance and has a longer-term objective focusing on social accountability processes that enhancing society's quality of life by fostering synergies across three important domains: Governance , Empowerment, and Development.
Key Activities
Activity 01
Promoting an enabling environment for civil society
- Technical capacity training and workshop program.
- Mentoring, project management support and grant for CSOs with great ideas for change.
- Linkage among member CSOs based on geographic and/or interest.
- Joint fund/resource mobilization for sustained members’ active engagement in social accountability activities.
Activity 02
Improving the capacity of local and grassroots CSOs
- Sign partnership MOU with relevant ministries and other state actors like parliament.
- Lobby with a potential donors/CSOs and corporations for funding social accountability initiatives.
- Establish partnership with other likeminded consortium, academic/research institutions, and media.
Activity 03
Creating strong linkages, partnership and collaboration
- Facilitate interface meetings and evidence base dialogue.
- Enhance the existing GO-CSO-Community forums and establish new ones at local level.
- Advocate and lobby for citizens’ priorities to be incorporated in government plan and budget.
- Engage in policy making and exacting better accountability through high-level advice.
Activity 04
Promoting digitalization and research on social accountability
- CSO/citizen monitoring by using digitalized social accountability tools.
- Digitalization of social accountability
- Knowledge, experience sharing and adaptive learning events among member CSOs and different actors at different levels (global, regional, and national)
- Establish Community of Practice (CoP) at NaSAC level with member CSOs.
