Miraf Hulegeb Yeketema Limat Dirigit is an indigenous non-profit humanitarian organization established in October 2007 in Addis Ababa to serve and enhance the livelihoods of urban communities. The organization is legally registered and certified by the Ministry of Justice. In November 2009, in accordance with the new Charities and Societies Proclamation No. 621/2001 E.C., the organization re-registered with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Charities and Societies Agency and renewed its registration on November 28, 2012, with certificate number 0832. The organization re-registered on July 4, 2019, based on the new Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No. 1113/2019, with certificate number 0832.
The following section outlines the organization’s partnership history, including funding sources and corresponding beneficiary populations.
- Miraf Hulegeb Yekeema Limat Dirgit was founded in October 2007. With initial support of 106,020.71Birr from the Cardinal Leger Foundation in Canada, the organization acquired essential office equipment and financial management tools.
- Miraf launched its first project in January 2007, focusing on strengthening an urban vegetable cooperative. Supported by Cardinal Leger Foundation in Canada birr 100,622 The project involved 21 members and included the construction of a small bridge to improve garden access, as well as the distribution of seeds and capacity-building training. The project concluded at the end of the year.
- In 2008, Miraf Hulegeb Yeketema Limat Dirigt secured one year project budget of 119,000 .00 Birr from Cardinal leger foundation to support 50 women in Woreda 04 of Addis Ketema Sub-city. The project focused on establishing and strengthening one savings and credit cooperative and one vegetable cooperative.
Partnership
- In 2013, Miraf Hulegeb Yeketema Limat Dirigt implemented a one-year project focused on HIV/AIDS prevention and economic empowerment for 50 impoverished women in Woreda 8, Addis Ketema Sub-city. Funded by KNH through Facilitator for Change with a budget of 150,000 .00 Birr, the project centered on establishing and strengthening a savings and credit cooperative.
- From 2016 to 2018, Miraf Hulegeb Yeketema Limat Dirigt implemented a project funded by Arcih Noah Stiftung from (Germany) aimed at empowering 50 disadvantaged women and supporting 25 public primary school students in Addis Ketema Sub-city. The project budget was birr 366,041.60.
- Miraf Hulegeb Yeketema Limat Dirigt implemented a four-year project from 2019 to 2022, funded by Karl Kibel Stiftung for Kind und Familie (KKS) with a budget of 12,000,960.58 Birr. The project aimed to empower women and improve the lives of children in Nifass silk Lafto Sub-city, Woredas 1, 11, and Lebu, Addis Ababa.
- In 2022, Miraf Hulegeb Yeketema Limat Dirigt implemented an 18-month social accountability project in Woredas 3 and 12 of Addis Ketema Sub-city. The project aimed to enhance citizen participation and influence in local governance. The project financed by A multi-donor trust fund and implemented by VNG international Birr 1,297, 024.89 .the project implemented with consortium team .
- In 2022, Miraf Hulegeb Yeketema Limat Dirigt secured a one-year project, funded by Plan International Ethiopia , with a budget of 499,500 .00 Birr to promote women’s leadership in Addis Ababa. The project targeted Nifas Silk Lafto Woredas 1, 11, and Lebu, as well as Addis Ketema Woredas 3 and 12.
- Miraf Hulegeb Yeketema Limat Dirigt implemented a peace building project from 2022 to 2023 in West Gojam, Amhara Region, funded by British Council’s CSSP2 program with a budget of 1,461508.09 Birr. The project targeted Adagn Agerchako, Gendawuha Town, Quara, and Metema Woreda.with Consortium team of three organization. The project implemented consortium team are as follows.
- Miraf Hulegeb Yeketema Limat Dirigt has maintained a strong partnership with the Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Association (CCRDA) since 2014. CCRDA has been a crucial financial and technical supporter of the organization from 2016 to 2023.

The National Social Accountability Consortium composed of 16 national local CSOs established in 29 February 2024 to implement an integrated social accountability programme, synergizing their different strengths and competencies. The majority of members of the consortium had extensive experience in implementing social accountability programs at national level in addition to integrated humanitarian and development interventions.
