Maedot
Maedot is a Women and Children focused civil society organization that undertakes integrated urban and rural programs. It was established and registered by Ministry of Justice as an indigenous NGO in July 2000 with Registration No. 0139. Re- registered twice by as Ethiopian Resident Charity organization by Charities and Societies in 2009 as Ethiopian Civil Society Organization by Authority of Civil Society Organization on August 27, 2019 respectively to undertake Child and Women focused poverty alleviation programs and have current renewal from the respective offices. Maedot has a Governing Board and a Management Body composed of professionals to provide sustainable service to Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and their caregivers. Maedot has 64 committed staff members and deployed 337 community volunteers to implement the Family Focused HIV prevention, Care and Treatment Project and its effort to expand and ensure the delivery of quality services to its target population. Maedot is supporting more than 10,714 OVCs and 6194 care givers in Addis Ababa in nutritional, HIV care, and support and economic empowerment initiatives.
Maedot has a personnel policy (manual) with a clear recruitment, promotion and evaluation procedures and staff development plan. It has a financial manual with clear financial procedure and computerized financial and accounting system to operate with. Maedot has also developed Management Information System and Monitoring & Evaluation manuals.
Maedot implemented projects mainly focused on OVC and HIV Prevention Care and Support programs in three major sub-cities in Addis Ababa City Administration and Woliso and Delila Woreda in South West Showa Zone and Batu/Zeway town in East Showa Zone of Oromia Regional State. Maedot worked in USAID assisted projects in cooperation with FHI360, PACT, Care Ethiopia and HACI on Family focused HIV AIDS .

Interventions
Major objective of the organization is to enable Highly Vulnerable Children (HVC) and their caregivers improve their Socio-economic condition through creating access to Education, care and support, mitigation of Gender Based Violence and protection of rights of children and vulnerable community members.

The National Social Accountability Consortium composed of 16 national local CSOs established in 29 February 2024 to implement an integrated social accountability programme, synergizing their different strengths and competencies. The majority of members of the consortium had extensive experience in implementing social accountability programs at national level in addition to integrated humanitarian and development interventions.
