Establishment
Ethiopian Women Development Organization is a Women’s Right organization established in December 2023. The organization is founded by women professionals with more than 10 years of extensive experience in leading Women’s Right Organization and managing gender equality programs .EWDO strives to realize gender justice and social transformation through narrowing the gap on access and utilization of digital technologies and maximizing women’s participation and inclusion in digital technologies and share in their dividend.

EWDO envisages women and girls access equal opportunity in digital technology and bridge the gender digital divide in Ethiopia.

EWDO strives for social transformation and gender justice through enhancing equal participation of women/girls in the digital technology sphere and end online violence, working in partnership and close collaboration among all stake holders

Operational Area
With the head office in Addis Ababa, EWDO shall be operational in all the regions of Ethiopia. When deemed, field offices shall be opened in regional towns
Governance
EWDO is governed by a Board (all women) who is the supreme policy makers and oversight the over all performance of the organization. The Executive. Directress of EWDO, who is appointed by the board, is accountable to the Board.
Human resource
EWDO at the founding level in addition to the Executive Directress, it has hired Program Manager, who has more than twenty years of experience in projects management including Gender programs, and a part time finance officer.

Bridging the Digital Gender gap/ Digital Divide
EWDO strategies
- Awareness raising and tackling the gender stereotype, barriers to women/.girls participation
- Evidence based Advocacy for policy that favor equal participation in the digital technology and STEM and bring women closer to the world of technology from an early age
- Fighting online harassment cyber bullying and violence
- Enhance equal participation of women/girls in the digital technology to create creates opportunities in education, entrepreneurship, and access to information and services that help break the cycle of poverty.

The National Social Accountability Consortium composed of 16 national local CSOs established in 29 February 2024 to implement an integrated social accountability programme, synergizing their different strengths and competencies. The majority of members of the consortium had extensive experience in implementing social accountability programs at national level in addition to integrated humanitarian and development interventions.
